About The Position

Reporting to the Dining Room Manager, the Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, sharing information about available beverage selections and by mixing and serving drink orders in accordance with customers’ preferences. The Bartender must provide excellent service to residents and guests, ensuring level of service meets the Convivial’s standards. The Host/Hostess respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS It is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations listed in the job description is not always specifically described, and that employees, at the discretion of management, may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
Alcohol Serve Safe and Food Serve Safe certifications required.
Good communication skills and phone etiquette.
Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
At least one year of relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities

Prepares the bar for service.
Greets residents and guests in a polite and welcoming manner.
Provides a pleasant drinking/happy hour experience for residents and guests.
Verifies age requirements.
Knows alcohol pairing and tastes.
Evaluates customer’s needs and makes recommendations.
Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests by following the established drink recipe.
Knows how to make traditional and designer drinks.
Processes orders through Point-of-Sale system.
Manages inventory and lets Manager know when to place order.
Cleans the bar, glassware and tools ensuring sanitation requirements are met.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
