With a wide array of brands in exciting locations, HRI Hospitality is the destination to set course for growing your career! The Lobby Bar located in the Barnett Hotel features late night music. In the heart of the French Deco-inspired living room, the Lobby Bar slings craft cocktails and Italian-accented snacks seven days a week. Amidst spirits, trinkets, and artwork, you can sidle up to a Sazerac or enjoy the near nightly entertainment off the lobby in our music venue. SUMMARY Prepare beverage orders in accordance with The Barnett Hotel, Lobby Bar standards and recipes. Manage flow of guests in and around bar area. Keep bar clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution.
  • Have superb time management skills.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
  • Other language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below.
  • Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HRI & initiatives
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • If applicable, must meet any required minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Knowledge of safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Minimum 1 year previous experience as a bartender.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a fast-paced bar and/or restaurant.
  • Must have any legally required bartending certifications, if applicable.
  • Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
  • Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Sit, walk, and stand continuously.
  • Lift / carry 25lbs (frequently) and 50lbs (occasionally)
  • Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional hotel and/or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Additional certifications (ServSafe, TiPS, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cocktails and other drink orders to guests’ specifications while maintaining Ace Hotel quality standards.
  • Handle payment for beverage purchases in compliance with HRI and cash handling procedures.
  • Properly check all guests’ identification to ensure legal age compliance.
  • Properly input guest orders through the POS system.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the menu offerings.
  • Manage inventory for liquor, wine, beer, and other beverage ingredients.
  • Perform sidework as needed.
