About The Position
As a bartender at bartaco, your role is crucial in creating an enjoyable dining and bar experience for guests. You will be expected to showcase your individual personality while providing excellent service. The position requires a friendly and outgoing demeanor, along with strong communication skills to engage with guests effectively. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling alcohol consumption to ensure guest safety and prevent overconsumption. Timely communication and service are essential, as you will need to attend to guests promptly, take and fulfill their orders accurately, and maintain a friendly and efficient service throughout their dining or bar experience. In addition to guest interaction, you will play a significant role in ensuring guest satisfaction by keeping the bar counter areas clean and organized, creating a pleasant environment for patrons. Stock management is another critical responsibility; you will need to ensure that the bar is adequately stocked with beverages, ingredients, garnishes, and other necessary items to fulfill guest orders and requests. This position requires physical stamina, as bartenders must be on their feet for extended periods, walking, bending, lifting heavy bottles, and carrying trays or glassware. You will also need to demonstrate manual dexterity for preparing garnishes and drinks, as well as basic mathematical skills for handling money and processing payments accurately. Knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and cocktails, is essential. Familiarity with cocktail recipes, mixing techniques, and ingredient combinations will be necessary to provide guests with accurate recommendations. Strong communication skills are vital for maintaining a positive atmosphere and ensuring effective interaction with both guests and coworkers. Additionally, understanding workplace safety procedures and the ability to operate bar equipment safely is important to prevent accidents and maintain a secure working environment. Depending on local laws, specific licenses and certifications may be required, such as ETIPS or A.B.C. Certification, to ensure responsible alcohol service.
