About the position

Pacific Hospitality Group is seeking a Bartender who will be responsible for preparing drinks for guests and servers, ensuring a fun and high-energy environment while maintaining professional service standards. The Bartender will manage the bar setup, handle transactions, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the bar area. This role requires adherence to food handling and sanitation guidelines, as well as compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares drinks for guests and servers following standard recipes for cocktails and specialty drinks.
  • Provides guests a fun and high-energy environment while maintaining a professional distance.
  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily, including requisitioning and stocking supplies.
  • Describes wines, beers, and spirits served and makes recommendations as requested.
  • Handles cash, charge, room, and credit card transactions accurately.
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, TIPS, and health department guidelines.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the bar area by disposing of waste and cleaning glassware.
  • Ensures that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.
  • Provides opening and closing inventory of spirits and fills out requisitions.
  • Notifies management of unsafe conditions and resolves guest complaints.

Requirements

  • Two years of prior bartending experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation, hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Extensive knowledge of all menu and bar items.

Nice-to-haves

  • Valid current Food Handlers Card and RBS Certification or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding serving alcohol.
