About The Position

Liberty Senior Living is currently seeking an experienced Bartender to provide exceptional customer service in a part-time evening role. The Bartender will be responsible for maintaining good relationships with tenants and guests, ensuring cleanliness and condition of all bar items, and following proper sanitation schedules. The role includes preparing and plating beverages, stocking supplies, and assisting with cleaning duties in the bar/lounge area. The Bartender will also engage with customers to create a positive dining experience and promote participation in dining programs.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma and 6 months or more of working experience in a restaurant, hotel, or country club.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a TIPS safe service and food safety certification.
  • Work experience in a full-service bar and/or lounge.
  • Embodies and champions high levels of patience, tact, and enthusiasm towards customers.
  • Full comprehension of classic mixed drinks, cocktails, mixers, blended beverages, beer, and wine.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Attends trainings and department meetings when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as outlined by supervisor.
  • Is effective at delivering written and spoken instruction on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service.
  • Uses good communication for performing sequence of service.
  • Demonstrates a neat and presentable appearance, observing Liberty dress code.
  • Maintains good relationships with the tenants and guests.
  • Responsible for setting/clearing bar glassware and appetizer food items including flatware, napkins, and placements.
  • Ensures cleanliness and condition of all china and flatware.
  • Responsible for proper cleaning of the bar area by following proper sanitation schedules.
  • Responsible for preparation/plating of hot and cold beverages.
  • Keeps all supplies stocked in serving area.
  • Responsible for rotating menus, guest charge tickets, resident declining dollar, credit card reconciliation using point of sale system.
  • Assists in cleaning tables and chairs, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping bar/lounge areas.
  • Performs all daily tasks in accordance with the established sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • May assist with special events/activities held at Liberty Senior Living.
  • Reviews and promptly reports to Dining supervisors all guests' complaints and grievances.
  • Utilizes safe food preparation methods when serving foods.
  • Monitors temperature records and checklists for holding and storing equipment to maintain safe food at all stages in the flow of food.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary bar/lounge area at all times.
  • Ensures and assists with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas according to established checklist.
  • Creates a positive experience for customers that promotes their independence, choice and overall well-being.
  • Encourages participation in the dining program and meal activities.
  • Solicits feedback by interacting with customers in the bar/lounge.
  • Conveys feedback and makes recommendations regarding customer satisfaction to the Dining Room Manager, Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director.
  • Promotes positive interactions with tenants, staff and visitors.
  • Participates in and promotes teamwork.
  • Seeks, recommends and/or implements new methods and means of providing quality service and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures certification requirements kept up to date.
