About The Position

Omni Viking Lakes Hotel A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment. The 320-room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center and six two-story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is seeking an Outlet Bartender. This team member is responsible for providing drink orders to guests, servers, and managers, delivering prompt and courteous service, in accordance with Omni standards. Salary for this position starts at (based on experience): $15.85/hour. Requirements

  • Must be at a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Two years bartending experience.
  • Previous Bartending and guest service experience required, upscale hotel or resort experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current TIPS, ServSafe or equivalent alcohol training.
  • MICROS Experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be teamwork-oriented, and exhibit a positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Bartending and guest service experience required, upscale hotel or resort experience is strongly preferred.
  • MICROS Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Master drink recipes according to brand standards.
  • Must maintain full familiarity with menus and knowledge of beverage offerings, including wine service.
  • Supports new Omni Safe and Clean protocols throughout the outlet to support Omni's Covid-19 related sanitation protocols.
  • Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender’s manual. Jiggers pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on Micros.
  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
  • Attend to all needs of the guest during their visit to the restaurant.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests.
  • Alert the manager immediately if a member or guest has a suggestion, complaint, or issue.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant/bar area.
  • Send orders using MICROS system, present accurate check to guest and process payment.
  • Complete all opening and closing side work.
  • Ensure consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
  • Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
  • Ensuring all products are within date and using the FIFO method of storage.
  • Monitor inventory, place, and receive warehouse orders daily and ensure proper par levels of all products. Notify managers immediately if there are discrepancies
  • Attend department meetings and other required company trainings.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
