About The Position

Hyatt Regency Indianapolis offers a contemporary, elegantly designed experience seamlessly connected to the Convention Center and just steps from Lucas Oil Stadium. Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, our hotel blends modern amenities with classic design elements, providing an oasis in one of the Midwest's most vibrant cities. As a Bartender / Mixologist, you will be the creative force behind our bar, taking food and beverage orders from guests and servers, and expertly preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Your role is integral to delivering a memorable guest experience, and you will also assist with maintaining bar supplies, record keeping, cash handling, and processing credit transactions.

Requirements

  • Preferably one year of bartending or mixology experience.
  • Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit where applicable.
  • Strong understanding of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and wine merchandising specials.
  • Excellent communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Familiarity with bar terminology and drink service protocols; proven ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement as defined by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly take and accurately process food and beverage orders from guests and servers, preparing a wide range of drinks—from classic cocktails to innovative mixology creations.
  • Provide expert recommendations on drink recipes and daily specials, answering questions about ingredients, techniques, and pricing to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including polishing glassware, restocking supplies, and ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Process cash and credit transactions accurately, prepare guest checks, and ensure proper record keeping in compliance with hotel procedures.
  • Monitor and assist with inventory control of bar supplies, ensuring the bar remains fully stocked for uninterrupted service.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and high service standards.
  • Work closely with fellow team members to ensure seamless operations and a unified approach to exceptional guest service.
