About The Position

The Bartender/Cook is integral to the guest experience. Their main function is to provide immediate attention to all guests for food and beverage services (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and food preparation and service) to the guests of the property. The Bartender/Cook will provide food and beverage services at the facility, insuring a high quality service-oriented environment. Essential Job Functions Prepares, serves and garnishes all drinks for customers. Prepares, cooks, garnishes and serves all food items on the grill menu. Maintains all bar and food products/supplies, including all glassware, expendable paper and other supplies/utensils. Inventories all food and beverage products for the facility and alerts management to immediate needs. Maintains the sanitation and cleanliness of the bar and food service area(s), utensils, glassware and equipment. Insures that all laws applicable to food and beverage operations are consistently maintained and followed. Inspects the bar and food service areas prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies and inventory are available. Collects payment for all food and beverages served. Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned in all areas of the food and beverage operation. Complies with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire and other local/state laws. Complies with and has basic knowledge of all food service safety regulations. Other Duties Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.) Knowledge of-- Food service skills including use of gas ovens, fryers and related refrigeration equipment. Beverage Management Skills including blender operation, some mix-ology knowledge and related refrigeration equipment. Interpersonal and communication techniques. Knowledge of all applicable laws. Ability to-- Make arithmetic computations quickly and accurately. Deal effectively with the public.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of bartending or cooking experience.
  • Ability to obtain a food health certificate if required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Subject to background investigation.
  • Work requires long periods of standing and the lifting of objects up to 49 pounds.
  • Knowledge of food service skills including use of gas ovens, fryers and related refrigeration equipment.
  • Beverage Management Skills including blender operation, some mix-ology knowledge and related refrigeration equipment.
  • Interpersonal and communication techniques.
  • Knowledge of all applicable laws.
  • Ability to make arithmetic computations quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public.
