About The Position

This position performs bar service activities with primary responsibility for mixing alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks; serving beverages; monitoring guest alcohol consumption; setting, stocking, and breaking down bar; maintaining accurate counts and collecting payment for all individual beverages served. Additional responsibilities may include retrieving and transporting equipment and supplies, loading, and unloading catering trucks, and performing other services as determined by the type of event.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years related experience in a high-volume, high energy, food and beverage environment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
  • The employee frequently is required to operate and use bar station tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
  • The employee must move up to 42 pounds frequently, and occasionally move up to 160 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Alcohol service certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests, takes orders, serves beverages while monitoring alcohol consumption and maintaining company service standards.
  • Requests proper identification from guests purchasing alcoholic beverages when legal age is questionable (under the age of 30).
  • Performs all duties on checklist including cleaning duties.
  • Completes bar set up and break down to departmental standards for each catering function, including back bar and equipment.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of portable bars and designated work areas. Stocks and maintains supplies, refrigerators, dispensers, and/or display cases, and replaces soda and CO2 tanks as necessary ensuring no interruption in guest service. Sweeps and mops floors. Transports soiled dishes/glassware to kitchen breakdown stations.
  • Complies with all company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to alcohol service and safety.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
