About The Position

Thirsty Lion Gastropub is seeking enthusiastic Bartenders to join our team in Tempe, AZ. The role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. Bartenders will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of the menu, following company policies, and adhering to state liquor laws.

Requirements

• 1 year of bartending experience required.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including late hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting.
• Knowledge of craft beers and cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a valid food service and alcohol permit.
• Arrive to work as scheduled and prepared for shift responsibilities.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and proper uniform.
• Prepare the bar section for service.
• Know all food and beverage menus, specials, and seasonal drinks before service.
• Follow all steps of service for each guest as outlined in the training manual.
• Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
• Assist coworkers to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to company accounting policies regarding transactions and discounts.
• Perform basic mathematics for transactions.
• Engage guests and coworkers with a positive and professional demeanor.
• Ensure guests are well taken care of from entry to exit.
• Stay informed about company products, services, and promotions.
• Follow management directions and complete additional tasks as needed.
• Comply with state liquor laws and company policies regarding alcohol service.
• Attend ongoing training sessions as scheduled.
• Minimize china/glass breakage.
• Prepare alcoholic drinks according to company recipes and standards.
• Control liquor loss and manage costs effectively.
• Rotate and stock coolers with required products.
• Keep alcohol storage areas secure and locked at all times.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of bar setup and closing procedures.
