Position Summary The Barre Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and effective Barre classes that provide an exceptional fitness experience for all participants. Instructors must demonstrate strong communication skills, sound fitness knowledge, and a customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • Current Barre Certification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience
  • CPR Certification
  • Professional and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Cornerstone Clubs always has customer service as a top priority.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule of availability.
  • Must be able to adjust schedule to meet the needs of the members.
  • Stand, sit, bend and move legs to demonstrate to the entire class period and perform fitness routine to demonstrate your physical fitness. This includes using proper form the entire class period, maintaining your proper form the entire class period and being a cardio fitness role model.
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, walking, reaching below knees, and reaching overhead for part of the class.
  • Must be able to observe entire class for safety purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead group Barre classes using clear verbal and non-verbal cues.
  • Design and deliver original, pre-planned class routines in accordance with Barre and general fitness principles.
  • Provide and use personal music playlists appropriate for class format and pacing.
  • Maintain consistent class flow, appropriate tempo, and easy-to-follow instructions throughout the session.
  • Prioritize participant safety at all times during class.
  • Demonstrate and cue proper technique, alignment, and form.
  • Offer modifications and progressions to accommodate varying fitness levels.
  • Provide corrective feedback and break down movements as needed to ensure safe execution.
  • Greet and welcome all class participants in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Communicate workout-specific education and cues throughout class.
  • Use motivational and inspirational language to enhance participant engagement.
  • Connect with participants during class and thank them for attending afterward.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and memorable class experience that encourages return participation.
  • Assist new attendees with proper Barre setup and equipment adjustments.
  • Ensure participants understand how to safely and effectively use the Barre and related equipment.
