The Barnard Early-Career Faculty Fellow in Art History will be part of a vibrant scholarly community and will fully participate in the life of their academic home at the college. Faculty Fellows will teach two undergraduate courses relevant to their scholarly interests and experience, conduct research and scholarship in their discipline, and receive mentoring and professional development support from the department/program, college, and university. This is a two-year position beginning on July 1, 2025, with teaching responsibilities during the standard academic year from September through May. The Art History Department emphasizes the need to understand art produced in a broad range of mediums from across the world, welcoming emerging scholars who contribute to the diversification of course offerings, particularly in relation to geographical regions such as China, South Asia, Africa, and the African diaspora. The ideal candidate will engage with critical approaches and material practices that expand upon traditional art history.
