We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Barn Area Equipment Operator. An individual could be successful if they possess the following. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters. Provides impeccable guest service to all guests Maintains the barn area in optimal conditions. Operate tractors, water trucks, spreaders and other equipment to maintain/groom the barn area. Responsible for reading, observing, enforcing and understanding all safety rules for safe operation for each piece of equipment. Maintain tractors, water trucks, and equipment. Must use sound judgement when using equipment around the horses. Performs preventative maintenance such as changing oil, replacing belts, etc. Performs minor corrective maintenance on equipment, such as trucks, tractors, barn equipment, etc. to repair equipment. Uses various hand tools Maintain the professional appearance of the barn area and ensures the adherence of the preventative maintenance program Ensure timely response to all reports of safety hazards and proper communication Uphold standards and practices that support the comprehensive safety and integrity of horseracing Perform all of the duties and responsibilities in a professional, friendly, courteous and helpful manner, maintaining extreme confidentiality with all information Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) + year barn area maintenance experience or similar role
  • Experience with industry equipment (i.e. tractor, truck, grader, front end loader etc.)
  • Experience with OSHA standards of safety
  • Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Facilities team members.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
