About The Position
The Red Porch Café, a shared vision and collaborative partnership between Community Link and Southern Illinois Living Centers, promotes inclusion and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. The Barista of The Red Porch must embrace Community Link’s vision, mission, and core values and must be willing to engage in a person-centered philosophy and collaborative approach. They need to demonstrate effective communication skills, a professional demeanor, flexibility to changing needs, and a positive attitude when engaging with customers. All employees of Community Link are expected to advocate and demonstrate the values of the organization. The Barista is responsible for promoting coffee and tea consumption by educating customers, as well as preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea drinks, along with a selection of food items and general merchandise. The Barista will promote inclusion of persons with disabilities and work in conjunction with fellow employees.
