About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Barista is responsible for, under the direction of restaurant management, establishing the preparation and presentation of beverages including tasting, product specification, and sanitation.

Requirements

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Available to work different types of events with varying time schedules, on varying days as needed.
  • Must be able to act as a role model and train the entry level peers.
  • Read and comprehend all necessary documentation, training materials and policy information.
  • Assist sick or injured guests and or team members.
  • Communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with guests and all levels of team members.
  • Use tools and equipment such as, radios, computers, and other tools specific to the position.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Work within Company established policies/guidelines.
  • Be articulate and possess a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Be team-oriented and enjoy working with and assisting people.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, with constant exposure to the general public and excessive noise. Also, there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke and excessive noise.
  • Able to exercise judgment on an independent basis.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, or minimum six (6) months of related experience required.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and IGB Regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Offers customer demonstrations and samples using brewing equipment.
  • Serves, welcomes, and greets guests at coffee bar.
  • Promotes positive customer relations; effectively explains menu items, handles guest complaints.
  • Prepare and serve beverages in accordance with established standards set by restaurant management.
  • Ensures that production and storage areas are maintained in accordance with city and state health department codes.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations, at all times.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attend seminars when needed.
