About The Position

The Barista position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Westborn Market coffee and beer/wine bar. In this position you will be required to assist customers in fulfilling their beverage orders while maintaining quality customer service upheld to the standards of Westborn Market.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older to sell and serve alcohol to customers in the state of Michigan
• Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
• Must obtain TIPS certification

Responsibilities

• Prepares beverages to standard recipes or customizes recipes for customers upon request, including recipe changes like ingredient substitutions, quantity of ingredients, etc.
• Operates cash till and is responsible for monetary transactions
• Verifies identification and age requirements of customers when necessary
• Understands customer needs through clear and concise communication
• Makes beverage suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
• Maintains an organized and clean work area including dating of ingredients and other perishables
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Execute at a high level, provide exceptional customer service
• Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
