As a Barista, you’re often the first smile and the final thank-you our guests experience in the Buffalo Bayou Coffee Bar. Your role is more than just making coffee or handling transactions—it’s about creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for what the day brings. Key Responsibilities Take coffee and food orders with warmth and professionalism. Make speciality coffee orders with care. Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring every arrival feels welcomed and every departure feels appreciated. Handle all guest payments accurately, including cash, credit card transactions, and room charges. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, and eating areas. Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth flow of service. Assist with daily opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures as assigned. Uphold all company and brand standards related to guest service, safety, and financial procedures. Who You Are A people-person with a natural talent for making others feel seen, heard, and welcomed. Organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with grace. Confident handling money and operating POS or restaurant management systems. A clear communicator—both in person and over the phone. Able to stand for long periods and occasionally assist with lifting up to 25 lbs. Flexible with scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior hospitality, barista, retail, or guest service experience is preferred.
