Our premier coffee offerings pair well with our innovative food offerings, handcrafted by our Starbucks Reserve baristas and Reserve Kitchens. Throughout the visit, partners foster a welcoming environment where customers can relax, whether catching up with friends, enjoying a moment of solitude while savoring extraordinary coffee, or experiencing their first trip to Starbucks Reserve. This job contributes to Starbucks success of the Starbucks Reserve brand by providing an exceptional experience to all customers as ambassadors of coffee leadership and stewards of quality. Through a commitment to operational excellence, they work together as a team to create the Starbucks Reserve Experience for their customers and one another. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Requirements

  • Experience in the service, culinary, restaurant or entertainment industry (i.e. restaurant, bar, theater, kitchen, specialty retail, or hospitality)
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, climb stairs, and stand without limitation and for long periods of time
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to carry 35lb on a consistent basis
  • Ability to memorize complex menus, ingredients, beverage & food builds
  • Health code certification per jurisdictional requirements

  • 1-2 years of specialty retail sales experience beneficial
  • Facilitation and presentation skills beneficial
  • Ability to carry and balance a tray beneficial
  • Baking or Culinary Certification/Degree beneficial
  • Pizza making experience, additional baking experience beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Provide a unique coffee and food-forward experience for every customer, including keeping up with production demand throughout the day.
  • Serve as a coffee and food expert, providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverage products and the ingredients used in those products.
  • Demonstrate impeccable composure and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations. Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events.
  • Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and standards.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and observing customer cues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all customers.
  • Support the store events model and its execution.
  • Take responsibility for the full-service model in applicable locations.
  • Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of rotating food, beverage, whole bean, and retail items.
  • Engage customers and leverage selling skills through recommendations, suggested food, beverage, and coffee pairings, and equipment demonstrations.
  • Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and products as needed.
  • Operate in an environment with rapid innovation and minimal turnaround time from innovation to product and service delivery to the customer.
  • Support inventory management, receiving, and storage of deliveries.
  • Utilize production planning tools to ensure item availability.
  • Prepare, finish, and assemble beverage and food items using the necessary equipment.
  • Stock and maintain all display tables and cases, as well as all supplies and wares needed for service and sales.
  • Proof various doughs and laminates.
