About The Position

The Picnic Basket is our bustling beachfront cafe located near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We are dedicated to simple, delicious food and treats, with ingredients sourced from local farmers, foragers and food artisans! We are looking for people who believe in our mission of making quality food for the public and delivering exceptional customer service in a high -volume, fast paced environment. As a Barista and Sandwich Maker, you will create an excellent customer experience by working the register, making high quality coffee and tea drinks, prepping ingredients, and making breakfast items, salads and sandwiches. You will also be responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of our menu items.

Requirements

Experience in customer service or food production in a high volume and fast -paced location is preferable.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Ability to effectively communicate and prioritize.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Available for at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Desire to learn more about locally sourced food and sustainable business.
Must be available to work through Summer 2026 (June ~ September).
