About The Position
As a Barista/Cashier at our coffee shop located at 1026 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our customers. This part-time position offers a starting pay of $10 an hour and requires you to work primarily during the morning shift from Monday to Friday, with additional weekend shifts as needed. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as coffee and tea, while ensuring that each customer has a positive experience. You will take customer orders and process payments using a cash register, requiring basic math skills for cash handling and making change accurately. In addition to beverage preparation, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop and your work area. Following health and safety guidelines when handling food and beverages is essential to ensure the well-being of our patrons. Collaboration with team members is key to ensuring efficient operations, and you will be expected to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact positively with customers and coworkers alike. While previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred, it is not required. We value a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
