About The Position
Strawberry Fields is opening Good Day Café as a social enterprise to employ people with disabilities in an integrated atmosphere. Employees with varying abilities will work together with the common goal of serving exceptional coffee and food to the State College Community. This shop will serve more than coffee; it will serve the opportunity to empower and enrich lives. This coffee shop is a unique opportunity to be a part of an inclusive workplace. In joining our team, you will be committing to providing great customer service, adding to a positive working environment, and serving great drinks and food. Your training will be on-going in subjects including but not limited to safe food service, hygiene, customer service, money handling, coffee and food preparation, coffee and food service, and sanitation. As a team member you are expected to support your team, mentor less-experienced teammates, and understand your ever-present ability to improve in this position and as a team member.
Requirements
- Criminal background check required
- Willingness to learn new skills and remain attentive while on the job
- Positive attitude, punctual, reliable, and ready to be a team member
- MUST be available for 2-4 shift per week!
Responsibilities
- Welcome and serve all customers in a friendly matter.
- Remain attentive and helpful during your interactions
- Wash/dry dishes and keeping tables clean
- Follow safe food service and hygiene practices
- Follow instruction from barista and management
- Duties have potential to focus on Food Prep and kitchen maintenance
- Closing the dish area, taking out the trash and recycling
- Cleaning two bathrooms
- Sweeping and mopping the café floors
- Other general tasks as assigned
