About The Position

Dane Street is expanding our physician panel! This is a telework opportunity for supplemental income for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis. As a Physician Advisor for Disability Peer Review, you will utilize your expertise in forensic pathology to review and assess cases relevant to disability claims. The Physician Reviewer will provide expert opinions on the medical necessity of treatments and evaluate the medical records in accordance with client-specific policies and recognized standards of care.

Requirements

• Board Certified in Bariatric Surgery.
• Hold an active medical license.
• Board certification in Forensic Pathology and active practice required.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and analyze medical records related to forensic pathology to answer client inquiries using appropriate criteria and guidelines.
• Ensure that determinations are clear, concise, and supported by adequate medical documentation.
• Identify and reference current clinical guidelines, evidence-based research, and peer-reviewed literature to substantiate objective decision-making.
• Provide timely and accurate reports including any relevant criteria utilized during the review process.
• Complete reviews and return cases on or before specified deadlines.
• Conduct follow-up communications when required based on specific case needs.
• Maintain current licensure and fulfill all necessary certification requirements.
• Participate in orientation and training programs as mandated.
• Address quality assurance issues and engage in audits or additional reviews as needed.
