About The Position

Carle Health is seeking a Bariatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves joining a growing Bariatric Surgery team with a BC Bariatric/General Surgeon and dedicated support staff. The role includes a blend of clinic and hospital responsibilities, with no call or weekend responsibilities. The schedule will be Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The Bariatric Surgery APP will be responsible for the delivery of care to bariatric candidates and patients, as well as pre/post-operative assessment and responsibilities. The role includes participation in patient treatment planning, counseling, and monthly office visits to review progress. In-office procedures include wound assessment and lap band fills, working under the supervision of the Program Medical Director.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing with Acute Care specialty (ACNP) or Physician Assistant.
• At least 1 year of APP experience required.
• Current Illinois registered nurse license and advanced practice nurse licensure / physician assistant licensure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to bariatric candidates and patients.
• Conduct pre/post-operative assessments.
• Participate in patient treatment planning and counseling.
• Conduct monthly office visits to review patient progress.
• Perform in-office procedures including wound assessment and lap band fills.
