About The Position

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Bariatric Clin Dietitian PRN to join their team. This position is part of the Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery Center, which is accredited by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The role involves educating patients on nutritional care pre and post-surgery, ensuring patient comprehension, and managing various responsibilities related to patient care and program oversight. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional requirements for availability outside these hours for community events and support group meetings.

Requirements

• Registered Dietician, Licensed Dietician.
• Minimum 1 - 3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional status and plan proper nutritional therapy including recommendations for protein, vitamins, and minerals according to nutritional guidelines for clinical nutrition practice for bariatrics.
• Work with Director and Medical Director on Service Line Improvement Projects.
• Coordinate and facilitate Social Media Initiatives.
• Coordinate and facilitate Support Group Meetings.
• Review and update all nutrition education material and participate in marketing efforts.
• Monitor, research, and make recommendations on industry changes.
• Identify needs, develop, and perform training and education for patients and hospital staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospital department team members, community customers, and representatives.
• Manage multiple priorities.
• Conduct patient education including nutritional evaluation/assessment and ongoing nutritional intervention according to established standards of practice and within departmental guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons regarding patient progress and/or complications.
• Coordinate and facilitate patient support initiatives.
