About The Position

Watco moves any commodity, and at this site, we handle primarily petroleum coke products. As a Dock Hand, you will assist the Operators with removing and resetting barge covers, climbing in and out of barges, and assist with securing and moving barges as needed. This position also requires operating a skid steer to move materials. This is a full-time outside job in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to understand Watco Transload and Intermodal safety rules and regulations
• Ability to pass training and required testing
• A Valid Drivers License is preferred for this position

Responsibilities

• Assist Operators with removing and resetting barge covers
• Climb in and out of barges
• Secure and move barges as needed
• Operate a skid steer to move materials
• Communicate special instructions to crew members
• Ensure all team members complete the job safely
• Perform structural inspections as required
• Prepare equipment for product transfer
• Complete all applicable documentation, inspections, and recordkeeping
• Perform snow/weed removal as necessary
• Use ladders to access barges
• Communicate with team members using two-way radio
• Pass Safety Course administered by customer
• Work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
