About The Position

Max Hospitality is currently seeking a Barback for Max Downtown, located in the heart of Downtown Hartford. The Barback plays a key role in the ease of assisting bartenders in order to provide the best service to our guests, acting as the bartenders right hand person. The Barback will support bartenders by maintaining stock on the bar, cleaning and keeping an organized work station. This can consist of cleaning spills, clearing the area for new guests and detailing the tables in the tavern and on the bar. Washing glassware, managing trash, stocking ice, refilling mixers, garnishes and changing out kegs if needed. ensuring the straws, napkins and assisting with prep work for the bar to run efficiently will also be required. Pulling from the liquor room to restock bar when spirits are running low. This role will also be a first step to being trained on the bar to move into a bartending role with the restaurant.

Requirements

Ability to move quickly in a small space
Physically able to stand, bend, walk and lift heavy kegs is required for the role
Observing the bar area including the tables in the tavern to ensure guests have items needed to enjoy their food and beverages.
Attention to detail and being organized
Must be 18 years of age at time of hire for this role per federal law
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
