About The Position

We’re looking for enthusiastic, fun, and energetic people who take the work seriously, but not themselves. The Prep/Bar Back will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel service standards and Mainsail Lodging & Development standards. The Bar Back will also be responsible for helping all other staff and operations to maintain a well-organized, clean, and well-stocked outlet. Friendly interactions with patrons will be required, but the focus will be on the support staff position. Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or higher
  • Previous hospitality experience
  • Minimum 1-year experience working in a restaurant or bar setting
  • Knowledge and experience with beer, wine, and liquor
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working on a team in a hospitality setting
  • Ability to use technology, e.g., computers, tablets, iPads, and POS
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A sense of ownership in everything that you do

Responsibilities

  • Provide service to bartenders in a timely manner
  • Prepare beverage garnishes and mixes
  • Ensure proper stocking and rotation of beer, liquor, wine, and consumable items
  • Clean glasses, utensils, tools, and other bar equipment
  • Run food from kitchen to bar and bar area to ensure guests receive their food in a timely manner
  • Provide guests with menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation, and prices
  • Maintain opening and closing par levels for beer, wine, liquor, and consumables
  • Assist in the receiving and unloading of bar items. Ensure proper stocking
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar, cooler, and bar storage area
  • Other necessary duties as reasonably assigned by the manager
