About The Position

Spire Bar was added to the hotel in 2021 during the renovation and stands as the headquarters of the Biltmore’s lively social scene. The beautiful outdoor bar and lounge has 250-seats serving a delicious array of refreshing cocktails, wines, and culinary creations. Wright Bar is the Biltmore’s famous (and infamous) lobby bar embodying the renegade spirit of Hollywood’s Golden Age featuring craft cocktails and a light bar menu to include our signature Tequila Sunrise - the legendary cocktail that was invented here in the 1930’s! The Barback is responsible for supporting the bartenders in their preparation, service, and maintenance of bars and other beverage service associated with the Wright Bar and Restaurant.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

  • Some hospitality experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves beverage orders from Purchasing, visually checks stock received against written requisition with the storeroom personnel, to ensure order is accurate, and then stores the beverage product in the beverage storeroom area.
  • Upon delivery to the beverage storeroom area, re-checks items with bartender for completeness.
  • Sets up glassware and other equipment.
  • Checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies, i.e., stir sticks, napkins, matches, etc…, for both the immediate bar and extended service area.
  • Transports taps, replaces and performs routine maintenance requirements on heavy beer kegs.
  • Assist bartender.
  • Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards.
  • Ensures all glassware, trash and linen are removed and properly stored.
  • Scoops ice from ice bins, transports to service areas and replenishes ice containers for usage.
  • Boxes and saves empty liquor bottles as they accumulate for later returns and requisitions.
