This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes, moves with urgency and intention, and understands that excellence is built through preparation. Summary: As a Barback at P.S. Speakeasy, you are the foundation of the bar’s success. You support bartenders by ensuring the bar is immaculately stocked, organized, and clean—before, during, and after service. This position requires stamina, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, along with pride in maintaining high standards in an upscale environment.
Requirements
- Prior barback, steward, dishwasher, or back-of-house experience preferred (but not required for the right candidate)
- Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Physical stamina with the ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and late nights
- Team-oriented mindset and professional attitude
Responsibilities
- Support bartenders by keeping the bar fully stocked with glassware, ice, garnishes, spirits, mixers, and supplies
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store glassware, bar tools, and service items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient dish and bar support area
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively restock throughout service
- Assist with opening and closing bar setup and breakdown
- Remove trash, recycling, and empty bottles during and after shifts
- Clean and store floor mats and maintain back-of-house cleanliness
- Expedite clean glassware and tools to the bar during peak service
- Follow all sanitation, safety, and company standards
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned to support smooth service flow
