The Barback is responsible for preparing and servicing bars within the hotel, ensuring compliance with established guest service and sustainability standards. This role involves greeting and acknowledging guests, retrieving orders from the storeroom, and checking stock received against written requisitions to ensure accuracy. The Barback will also assist bartenders by re-checking items for completeness upon delivery, cutting and preparing garnishes and fruits, and mixing and pouring juices as needed. Additionally, the Barback is tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration, and storage areas to comply with health code standards. Other responsibilities include scooping and transporting ice, managing empty liquor bottles, performing routine maintenance on beer kegs, and following sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program. Safe work habits must be practiced, including wearing protective safety equipment and adhering to MSDS and OSHA standards. Other duties may be assigned by management.
