Equipment Room is looking for a Barback/Runner who will assist food service employees in delivering food to tables, maintain cleanliness and attend to needs behind the bar, clean tables, carry dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens; setting tables; replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes; and serve water, appetizers and coffee to patrons.

  • Perform serving, cleaning, and stocking duties in order to facilitate customer service
  • Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measures when necessary
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
  • Ensure beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, serving areas are stocked
  • Replenish supplies of food and equipment at service bars/satellite service stations
  • Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer, and replace empty beer keg
  • Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning
  • Clean tables, counters, shelves, walls, furniture, and equipment in food service areas and other areas of restaurants, and mop and vacuum floors
  • Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars
  • Clean up spilled food, drink and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash
  • Serve ice water, coffee, and standard appetizers (i.e. bread/butter or chips/salsa) to patrons
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings
  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
  • Perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position as needed
  • Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
