About The Position

The Bar Waitstaff position is integral to delivering an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced environment. The primary goal is to efficiently serve beverages and food items while maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all patrons. This role requires attentiveness to customer needs, accuracy in order taking, and timely delivery of orders to ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Bar Waitstaff will collaborate closely with bartenders and kitchen staff to coordinate service and maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall success of the establishment by fostering repeat business through excellent service and positive guest interactions.

Requirements

  • Legal age to serve alcohol in the United States as per state regulations.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or waitstaff role, preferably in a bar or restaurant setting.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems used in bar or restaurant environments.
  • Knowledge of various beverage types, including cocktails, beer, and wine.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol).
  • Multilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously upon arrival and throughout their visit.
  • Take accurate drink and food orders and communicate them effectively to bartenders and kitchen staff.
  • Serve beverages and food items in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including clearing tables and restocking supplies.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and responsibly following company policies.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service guidelines.
