About The Position

Bar Traza at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa offers a unique dining experience with rustic Mediterranean shared plates and curated cocktails in a Spanish-colonial setting. The Cocktail/Food Server plays a vital role in providing an escape for guests by selling and serving intriguing cocktails, beverages, and menu items, embodying warm, personalized service. This is a seasonal position with an anticipated start date of April 15, 2025, and an end date of September 15, 2025.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' cocktail or food serving experience is required.
  • Must have excellent wine, beer and cocktail knowledge.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have great communication skills - the ability to engage with guests professionally, appropriately and courteously.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • RBS Certification will be required prior to the start of employment.
  • Must complete CA Food Handler's Card training provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Report for scheduled shifts on time and in the assigned uniform.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, well-groomed appearance.
  • Greet guests with a welcoming demeanor and provide a personalized service experience by following all Omni's 'Steps of Service' protocols.
  • Assist with re-setting tables according to proper table setting standards immediately upon guest departure.
  • Script food sales and be knowledgeable about menu items, including specials, cocktails, and wine.
  • Sell and up-sell items to increase per person check average.
  • Maximize beverage sales by suggesting trend-setting specialty cocktails.
  • Know setting guidelines, table numbers and overall dining room procedures.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly and follow company policy and procedure regarding alcohol service.
  • Take the guests' order, serve the courses accordingly and promptly tender payment of check.
  • Clear tables of non-essential plates, silverware, and glassware during every course throughout the guest meal.
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system and run all necessary reports.
  • Work as a team with all Associates to maintain an effective, positive atmosphere.
  • Be attentive and proactive in offering assistance to members and guests.
  • Assist in enforcing adult pool policies and standards.
  • Work safely and follow all Omni Safety and Loss Prevention standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $16.50/hr + tips
