Bar Traza at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa offers a unique experience with rustic Mediterranean shared plates and curated cocktails in a Spanish-colonial setting. The Bartender plays a vital role in creating and serving intriguing cocktails and beverages, providing an adult escape for guests. This seasonal position is expected to start on April 15, 2025, and end on September 15, 2025.

  • Report for scheduled shifts on time and in the proper uniform.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, well-groomed appearance.
  • Greet guests with a welcoming demeanor and provide a personalized service experience by following all Omni's 'Steps of Service' protocols.
  • Proof your station and check for polished silverware and neatness of the bar.
  • Assist with re-setting the bar according to proper table setting standards immediately upon guest departure.
  • Promote food sales to guests seated at the bar and be knowledgeable about food items offered.
  • Maintain strong and detailed knowledge of all cocktails, beers, and wine lists.
  • Maximize beverage sales by suggesting trend-setting specialty cocktails.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly and follow company policy regarding alcohol service.
  • Take guests' orders, serve courses/beverages accordingly, and promptly tender payment of the check.
  • Clear bar top of non-essential plates, silverware, and glassware during every course.
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system and run all necessary reports.
  • Make all drinks for guests and service staff, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Use jiggers to measure all drinks appropriately and follow pouring guidelines.
  • Complete, fill, and stock requisitions to par levels with management authorization.
  • Keep the bar fully stocked with fresh cut fruit, ice, and all items on the par sheets.
  • Maintain cleanliness levels according to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Answer the phone when needed and be able to answer guest questions.
  • Transfer opened checks for guests waiting to be seated in the dining room.
  • Work as a team with all Associates to maintain an effective, positive atmosphere.
  • Be attentive and proactive in offering assistance to members and guests.
  • Work safely and follow all Omni Safety and Loss Prevention standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • A minimum of two years bartending experience is required.
  • Must have excellent wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and multi-task.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Great communication skills - the ability to engage with guests professionally and courteously.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • RBS Certification will be required prior to the start of employment.
  • Must complete CA Food Handler's Card training provided upon hire.
  • Pay Rate: $16.50/hr + tips
