About The Position

Substitute Position: For internal candidates (Existing Employees) only. POSITION SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: On a substitute basis assists the Bar Department Manager with the operations of the Bar Department.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending experience necessary.
  • Knowledgeable about current alcohol and tobacco laws.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communications skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally
  • Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Physically capable of remaining on feet for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment and alcohol establishment.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Six months to one-year related experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass a criminal background check, and submit to drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
  • Supervises the wait staff and bartenders on assigned shift.
  • Assigns duties and responsibilities to staff.
  • Understands and enforces all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the bar department including current laws and regulations of alcohol and tobacco.
  • Keeps personnel informed of marketing promotions and events, changes to policies and procedures and other necessary information.
  • Informs supervisor of shift activity by maintaining operational and employee records.
  • Makes recommendations regarding personnel issues to the department supervisor.
  • Maintains assigned cash register and bank for shift.
  • Maintains inventory control
  • Conducts spot checks to ensure all work areas are clean and restocked as necessary.
  • Assists staff with job duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  • Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
