About The Position
The Bar Lead at Old Forester Distilling Co. plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of George's Bar, located within the distillery. This position is integral to the homeplace team and reports directly to the Old Forester Distillery Bar Manager. The Bar Lead is responsible for creating a unique and fresh cocktail menu, training staff to deliver exceptional service, and ensuring that the atmosphere in George's Bar aligns with the homeplace and brand aesthetic. This includes maintaining a consistent tone across various functional areas, which encompasses musical choices and lighting settings. The Bar Lead will also enforce quality and safety controls in accordance with Old Forester Distilling Co. policies, collaborating with the Bar Manager and Safety Manager as necessary. In addition to these responsibilities, the Bar Lead will assist in the monthly inventory process and create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for daily operations at George's Bar. Educational training on Old Forester products and brand training will also be part of the role. The Bar Lead will help with the setup and breakdown of the bar and cash drawer, plan and execute promotional events, and support the overall Old Forester Distillery Experience, including after-hours events. Maintaining product prep pars and assisting with par levels and daily ordering are also key responsibilities. The Bar Lead will serve as the onsite Bar lead in the absence of the Bar Manager, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
