About The Position

Assists bartenders by making sure the bar is fully stocked and prepared for service with anything that might be needed to serve guests quickly, efficiently, and professionally.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to one hundred (100) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation, as well as push and pull carts weighing up to four hundred (400) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must either possess or obtain valid Food Handler’s and Alcohol Awareness cards within three (3) months of employment.
  • Must have excellent guest service skills and ability to work in a fast paced atmosphere.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous bar back experience.
  • Six (6) months money handling experience.
  • ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

  • Checks bar inventory at start of shift using a checklist for inventory and before-and-after service stocking and clean-up.
  • Performs basic prep work behind the bar, such as refilling ice bins, restocking liquor, replacing kegs, cutting garnishes, and clearing away and washing empty glasses.
  • Maintains clear communication with the bartender and works in tandem to ensure smooth, efficient guest service.
  • Keeps the bar wiped down and prep areas clean throughout a shift.
  • Assists with moving tables and chairs to keep the bar area attractive.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
  • Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
  • Displays initiative and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to all guests using a guest’s name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
  • Fosters a team environment by working collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Provides courteous service and is cordial to all team members and guests.
  • Resolves complaints in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Serves as an apprentice to the bartender.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
