About The Position

The Bar Back / Food Runner - Pools is responsible for efficiently and respectfully delivering poolside orders and clearing all tables in a professional and effective manner as guests leave the pool, as well as supporting other team members while giving exceptional customer service. Bar Back / Food Runner - Pools are responsible for providing a clean and pleasant dining experience by clearing, sanitizing or resetting tables/pool dining areas. They ensure that the pool bar is well stocked with necessary items such as silverware, plates, napkins, and glassware, among other aspects of the pool dining experience of our guests. They assist bartenders in keeping their service area stocked and clean at all times. They keep the bar stocked with liquor, beer, spirits, garnishes, ice cubes and other products needed throughout their shift. They ensure that glasses, stirrers, shakers, strainers, and other bartending tools are clean and in the proper position for bartenders. Their responsibilities can also include cleaning up spills, mopping floors, taking out the trash and other operational tasks required to maintain a stocked and sanitary bar area. All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service in a pool or restaurant setting
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to all grooming and uniform guidelines, including slip-resistant shoes.
  • Must go above and beyond for guests and other team members.
  • Enthusiastically supports decisions once they have been made by management.
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Knowledgeable about menu items and cocktail recipes.
  • Physical ability to lift beer kegs, hold trays of bottles and glassware and stand during the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare pool and dining areas before service
  • Greet guests with water and assist with welcome touches
  • Deliver food, beverages, and service items promptly and accurately
  • Clear, clean, and sanitize tables, chairs, and service areas between guests
  • Reset tables and replenish napkins, silverware, and supplies
  • Support servers, bartenders, and pool attendants to ensure smooth service flow
  • Stock and maintain service stations, bars, and storage areas throughout the shift
  • Prepare bar items including mixers, juices, garnishes, ice, and glassware
  • Restock liquor, beer kegs, straws, napkins, and other bar essentials
  • Load/unload dish and glass washers and properly store clean items
  • Remove trash, collect empties, and maintain overall cleanliness and organization
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
  • Respond to guest requests quickly and professionally
  • Accountable for compliance with all local, state, federal laws, and regulations including those relating to food safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
