About The Position

The Banquets Passover Server - On Call, will anticipate, meet and exceed our guests needs to attain the highest levels of quality and cleanliness in all areas of Banquet operations. He/she will provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service in a luxury brand inspired hotel environment, where attention to detail is key.

Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous food and beverage experience in a luxury hotel setting preferred.
  • Food handling certificate is an asset.
  • Knowledge of food and wine an asset.
  • Second language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet each guest in a sincerely warm, friendly manner using the guests name, minimum of three times.
  • Demonstrate JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa service standards in all interactions.
  • Know your shifts and station assignments.
  • Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all menu items and specials and ensure that every product delivered to the guest adheres to the highest quality possible.
  • Remain observant and always responds to each guest.
  • Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.
  • Perform all assigned side works regularly, promptly, and correctly.
  • Make appropriate suggestion of food and beverages, if applicable.
  • Take guests' order promptly according to standards.
  • Receive and service beverage orders promptly according to standards.
  • Perform wine service according to procedures.
  • Ensure table maintenance is up to JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa hotel standards during the entire dining experience as per sequence of events.
  • Key in order on the Point of Sale (POS) terminal promptly and accurately.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and shift line-ups.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.
