About The Position

The job involves coordinating, planning, and supervising the production, plating, and presentation of food for all banquet events, ensuring customer satisfaction and attracting future business. The position reports to the Executive Chef.

Requirements

  • One or two years of post-high school education.
  • Thorough knowledge of the catering and food profession.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to food production.
  • Supervision and management skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Moderate hearing to hear equipment timers and communicate with staff.
  • Excellent vision to ensure product is prepared appropriately.
  • Moderate speech communication skills.
  • Moderate comprehension and literacy to read and understand all BEOs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production of food for all catered events.
  • Control food and labor costs.
  • Ensure preparation, plating, and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Ensure the appropriate quantity of food is prepared.
  • Follow safety standards and regulations to provide top quality food.
  • Supervise banquet kitchen employees including interviewing, scheduling, training, and developing staff.
  • Analyze Banquet Event Orders and coordinate functions with catering staff.
  • Monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment.
