Part of Milwaukee based Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel in downtown Lincoln has been serving Nebraska's capital city for nearly 90 years and has evolved as the benchmark for hospitality. What will you be doing? Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area, equipment and storage. Complete visual inspection and maintenance of banquet and meeting space and condition of equipment. Supervise and train staff in the set up and break down of assigned banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) and manager's instructions. Communicate frequently with supervisors and managers and communicate frequently with guest contacts in order to ensure that their needs are being met. Follow all Marcus Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures, Marriott Standards, and Information Protection procedures. Administer discipline as needed at a supervisory level and ensure disciplinary procedures are followed. Attend all scheduled mandatory Banquet Department meetings, trainings and hotel meetings. Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned. What you will bring to the role? High School Diploma required, advanced degree in hospitality related field preferred. Prior Banquet Set-Up, hospitality and/or supervisory experience preferred. Supervisory and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently. Dependable and reliable to meet the demands of a 24 hour operation with flexibility to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Must be able to lift, push, pull and or carry up to 100lbs. and ability to stand and move throughout continuously to perform essential job functions. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner.
