About The Position

The Banquet Services Supervisor reports directly to the Manager Banquets and is responsible for developing strong relationships with groups while handling all the details that go into ensuring excellence from staffing set up, to the event execution, and to include all equipment needs and client set up needs and changes through breakdown. Ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained in good working order.

Requirements

  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
  • Shift assignments may be irregular, and will cover days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to handle all types of guest related situations
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp
  • Must be able to walk and stand for entire shift
  • Must be able to read “fine print” areas of invoices and contracts
  • Must be able lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Two or more years in a supervisory/manager position in a high volume, catering/event kitchen
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the shift, including bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and standing for extended periods of time
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English and Spanish
  • Scheduling flexibility to include nights, weekends and Holidays including extended shifts based on business needs
  • Minimum of a High school diploma or GED preferred with 3-5 years of banquet supervisory experience required

Nice To Haves

  • TIPS Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with Catering, Stewarding and Banquet Department prior to the event to confirm set up needs as well as all specifics of the event
  • Monitor and ensure that functions are set up, refreshed and broken down in compliance with scheduled times and departmental procedures
  • Set up Events according to BEO, Room Diagrams and standards (Tables, Chairs, Buffets, Staging, Side stations, and Linens), to include staffing needs to accomplish
  • Daily review and walk through of all Meeting and Event Space to ensure refreshes and cleanup before during and after groups
  • Safety check list and room maintenance, all Hot Sos and Work Orders for Room and Equipment upkeep
  • Care of Property and Equipment, ensuring proper use, upkeep and cleaning of all Equipment. Consider storage as well as Transporting of Equipment to locations throughout the Property
  • Have open communication with the Clients, Sales, Stewarding, Banquets, Convention Services Teams, Directors of F&B and Catering regarding Events, set-ups, Equipment needs, scheduling and staffing
  • Assist with Events and coordinating set ups including AV, Beverage and Culinary needs, and the breakdown as well as checking with Clients and Banquet Teams to ensure successful execution
  • Coordinate and review all charges (in reference to set ups) for proper billing, (Vendor set up needs, changes, additional labor) communicating to AV, CSM’s and Banquets
  • Ability to ensure on-going inventory and proper maintenance of all Equipment to include, Tables, Chairs, Linens, Buffets, Bars, Carts, Butcher Blocks, Stations
