About the position

The main function of this position is to serve food and beverages to guests at banquet functions according to established company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working.
  • Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Prepare room according to Banquet Event Order (coffee break, lunch, buffet, etc.).
  • Set tables.
  • Maintain buffets.
  • Serve guest following rules of etiquette and property standards.
  • Serve wine.
  • Serve coffee and tea.
  • Clear tables of dirty dishes.
  • Deliver dirty dishes to kitchen.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines including proper handling of food, beverages and equipment.
  • Deliver dirty linen to laundry.
  • Clean banquet room following completion of function.
  • Store props and equipment in assigned areas.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • TIPS certification must be up to date.
  • Servsafe certification must be up to date.
