As a Restaurant Server, the role involves providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience. This includes greeting guests, understanding menu offerings, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages professionally, upselling, maintaining table cleanliness, engaging with guests, processing payments, and collaborating with the team. Shamin Hotels was founded in 1978 and has grown to be the largest hotel owner and operator in Virginia, with hotels across multiple states.

  • Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests to the restaurant in a friendly and welcoming manner, and escort them to their tables.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including food and beverage options, specials, and promotions, and be able to provide recommendations to guests as needed.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently, ensuring special requests or dietary restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen staff.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote additional menu items, specials, or beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned tables and dining areas throughout the meal service.
  • Engage with guests in a courteous and attentive manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have and ensuring their needs are met throughout their dining experience.
  • Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and handle cash and credit card transactions following established procedures.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other restaurant team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent service.
