About The Position

Lodge on the Desert is a historic boutique resort in the heart of Tucson, known for its beautiful desert setting, exceptional hospitality, and memorable events. Our property hosts weddings, corporate meetings, social celebrations, and private gatherings throughout the year. We are looking for reliable and hospitality-driven Banquet Servers to join our events team and help deliver outstanding guest experiences. The Banquet Server plays an important role in executing successful events by providing attentive and professional food and beverage service. This position supports weddings, meetings, and private events while working closely with the Banquet Captain and event team to ensure a seamless guest experience. Banquet Servers may also assist with banquet room setup and breakdown, including some setup and houseman duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous banquet, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
  • Positive attitude and strong guest service mindset
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to assist with banquet setup and equipment movement

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fine dining service and traditional steps of service is a plus
  • Bartending experience is a plus and may be utilized for certain events
  • Experience or familiarity with the Toast POS system is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional service during weddings, meetings, and banquet events
  • Serve plated meals, buffets, and passed hors d’oeuvres according to banquet service standards
  • Assist with beverage service and maintain service stations throughout events
  • Set up banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, glassware, and flatware
  • Clear tables, reset spaces, and maintain a clean and organized event environment
  • Assist with event breakdown and some houseman duties, including moving tables, chairs, and equipment
  • Communicate with the Banquet Captain, kitchen staff, and team members to ensure smooth service
  • Maintain high standards of guest service, professionalism, and presentation
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines
