The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests during banquet events, conferences, and special occasions. Ensure that all food and beverage items are served efficiently, maintain cleanliness and organization in banquet areas, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism. Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public and be attentive to customer’s needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and balance heavy trays with food above the shoulder.
  • Maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Course within 30 days of date of hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Year Food or Beverage Service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serves at Food and Beverage functions in accordance with Banquet Event Orders, Banquet Service policies, and Banquet Management instruction.
  • Provides every guest with friendly, professional, courteous and timely service.
  • Responsible for greeting guests at assigned tables and providing exceptional service throughout the event.
  • Responsible for assisting in setting banquet rooms with proper linen, silverware, china and glassware for each event as instructed by the Convention Center Manager or Banquet Captain.
  • Stocks service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
  • Bus (remove, replace, and clear) during and after service. As well as assisting in the clearing of banquet rooms at end of service and the reset or refreshing of the room for the next event, as necessary.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to ensure proper directives are understood.
  • Timely completion of computer assisted training as required.
  • Returns all equipment to their proper storage area and maintains cleanliness and organization.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.
  • Preforms additional job-related functions as assigned.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to deliver the highest degree of service to the guest.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for guest inquiries in a courteous and attentive manner.
  • Reflects a sense of trust, comfort and understanding by demonstrating empathy for guests when problems occur.
  • Resolves all issues in a timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered.
  • Builds relationships with guests based upon respect, and confidence while maintaining a friendly, and approachable demeanor.
