Summary of Responsibilities: The bartender/server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests. The server’s attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of the hotel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • At least one year of customer service and restaurant experience is required
  • Customer service mindset
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and beverage service standards
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
  • Be a team player
  • Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
  • Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
  • May be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demand
  • Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to move on uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to remain stationary, move around, reach, and position oneself as needed for extended periods of time
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, including the ability to receive detailed information through communication and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct
  • Ability to tolerate stressful situations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in bartending, hospitality, or catering is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding promptly and courteously to requests and concerns
  • Clear tables and clean banquet areas during and after events
  • Assist with event breakdown and clean-up
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
  • Provide excellent guest relations by maintaining positive and friendly communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned
