About The Position

The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel, offers an unparalleled coastal retreat on the shores of Alabama's stunning Gulf Coast. The Lodge features 350 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to reflect the coastal charm and tranquility of the surrounding landscape. The role of Banquet Server involves interacting with guests to ensure they have a great experience when dining and meeting at the property. Responsibilities include serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring positive guest interactions, and being attentive to guest needs.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Six months hotel or convention center banquet food/beverage services experience.
  • Able to read, speak and understand English.
  • Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
  • Stand continuously for long periods of time.
  • Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Check server’s and house person’s BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted.
  • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item.
  • Be in communication with the Banquet Captain/ Lead Server regarding any special needs.
  • Set tables, glassware, flatware, and silverware per dining rules and specifications.
  • Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
  • Keep station neat and clean while servicing guests per established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling guest’s needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables, stations, and equipment.
  • Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and beverage orders.
  • Complete assigned side work.
