The Banquet Server offers pre-determined menu selections to guests and delivers items to the guest in a timely manner. The Banquet Server also assists with set-up, breakdown, and clearing of items according to the banquet event order.
Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table; maintain knowledge of each item's origin, taste, and preparation methods.
Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests; check complete orders with guest's original order.
Coordinate food timings. Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order. Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations.
At least 2 years of high-volume banquet serving experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of Opera and Micros POS preferred/is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 lbs.
