About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is seeking an experienced Banquet Red Coat to join our team. This position is 100% on-site, no remote work. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport Convention Center is conveniently situated just south of Miami International Airport off the Dolphin Expressway adjacent to the Blue Lagoon Business District. The hotel features 334 guestrooms, onsite dining, fitness room, outdoor pool, business center, complimentary High-Speed Internet Access, 24,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 Square feet of Hotel Meeting and Function Space and a Convention Center with 152,000 square feet of meeting, event and exhibit space. This position will be a non-exempt hourly position and will report to the Banquet Set-up Manager. The Banquet Red Coat’s responsibility is to service our convention & meeting space guests as well as all meeting rooms in accordance with Doubletree high standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Doubletree from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Doubletree rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Manager throughout shift to be aware of the work
  • Review meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest.
  • Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water
  • Maintain established cleaning schedules of meeting rooms and ballrooms so the rooms always stay presentable for our guests.
  • Asses the needs of our guests through attending walkthrough, meeting during events and special/ VIP requests during their time with us.
  • Lead banquet events to ensure service standards are executed efficiently and professionally
  • Act as the primary point of contact during events for both guests and banquet staff
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, set-up team, and event planners to ensure smooth event execution
  • Monitor event flow, making real-time adjustments to maintain timing and guest satisfaction
  • Ensure all banquet rooms are properly set according to event orders (BEOs) and brand standards
  • Handle guest requests, concerns, and special accommodations promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a high level of visibility on the floor to ensure quality service and presentation
